Law and Order: Criminal Intent follows the crime solving techniques of the Major Case Squad by exposing the criminal’s intent.

In the New York Police Department Detective First Grade Robert Goren is called in by Captain James Deakins to solve the high profile crimes and complex cases by exposing criminal intent.

Detective Mike Logan and his new partner, Detective Wheeler form the Major Case Squad with long-time partners Detectives Robert Goren and Alexandra Eames The two Major Case Squad detective teams split the caseloads week to week.

Detective Goren is an exceptionally bright homicide investigator with well-honed instincts. Likewise, his partner, Detective Eames brings an independence and stylish edge to her work that matches well with Goren.

Detective Logan partners with Detective Wheeler and with their approach ask questions to solve the most difficult cases.

Captain Ross has been rewarded with the Major Case Squad after heading a successful three-year Joint Task Force on International Money Laundering. He brings Wheeler with him to the Major Case Squad.
